When thinking about Ibiza, images of sun, sea and clubs come to mind, but cricket? Hardly but thanks to a small group of enthusiastic cricket lovers and british residents, friendly matches were played against touring sides from the uk (such as the Jack Hyams XI) in the early 1980s at the parched goat patch popularly called the “Es cana Oval”.

Eventually the regular group of players led by Desmond King and aided and abetted by Len Hamilton-Smith decided officially established Ibiza Cricket Club in the summer of 1986, appropriately sharing some beers at the well known Sandy’s Bar in Santa Eulalia.

Ibiza Cricket Club is delighted to play home games at the Carnes March facility in San Lorenzo, in the north of the island. Formerly the home of Ibiza Polo Club, this custom built facility is a fantastic place to play and watch cricket on the White Isle and a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the major towns.

Our ground has a purpose built batting mat, a decent size outfield & a fabulous space for players, spectators & fans including a large BBQ area, shaded zones and private parking. Ibiza Cricket Club hopes to provide a perfect destination for all standards of touring sides.

Dates must be agreed in advance with the Ibiza CC Fixtures Secretary

We usually offer games on Saturday & Sunday but can amend this with prior agreement

Games usually start at 12pm midday

We can offer games of varying overs depending on time constraints but our usual format is for at least 1 x 40 overs match in a weekend

Ibiza Cricket Club has regular net sessions in Winter. These are currently held every Sunday between 10am and 12am & will continue until we start playing in April.

We encourage all potential cricketers to come along to a net. ICC has players of all abilities, from the ex professional level to absolute beginners – and we absolutely welcome all.

Nets are a great way to meet the team & dust off your cricketing cobwebs!

The Ibiza Cricket Club have a 2 lane net infrastructure, complete with a bowling machine, and all the kit that you will need – all you will need is a pair of trainers & your cricketing brain!
